They have assembled a great cast but they just can’t seem to nail down a script or storyline that engages me. I’m talking about STARGATE SG-1 on the Sci-Fi Channel. I admit I came late to the series. I think they had been on for 6 or 7 seasons before Ben Browder joined the cast. That’s when I started watching as I was a huge fan of the series FARSCAPE that Ben had starred in. Before that I had only seen one episode from the previous season when Claudia Black guest-starred, she also being a FARSCAPE alum. And now here are two of my favorite actors on another sci-fi show with a great concept, fantastic cast but poor writing. So we got another average television show. But I understand this is their last season (I’ve been watching for 2.5 now I guess). I hope they all find work again after this, these actors definitely deserve it. If you’ve never seen it, check out the recent episode “Bad Guys” where the SG-1 team is mistaken for rebel terrorists, co-written by Ben Browder it was damn funny. If only they could have done this level of quality every week.
