Childhood Revisited

When I was a kid I had the Fisher Price Little People Village. It was awesome with a fire station, barber shop, movie theater and walkway over the traffic light. My older brother had the airport and my younger brother the children’s hospital. And we played with them a lot.

Now we had bought a couple of the newer Little People pieces for my daughter (the house, park and zoo) and she loved them. Then family got her a couple more for X-Mas (school and circus tent). Finally for her birthday two more from me and the in-laws (farm and garage). By now I’m just addicted and have easy access to ebay. In the last two days three more pieces have arrived at our doorstep (airport, main street, and a different house). The ebay acquisitions are a little frustrating as they are missing a piece here and there (luggage, mail, signs) or have oddly placed stickers… but it’s such a nice set of toys. I just need to get out of my collector’s mentality and stop now - this “town” is already taking up half a bedroom! But it sure is cool, though none of them are as cool as my 1973 Little People Village. Sigh.
