ER is on hiatus but you need to watch that Thursday night 10pm spot. NBC has moved STUDIO 60 there and I love this show. It’s smart, funny, dramatic and has a stellar cast. Aaron Sorkin, creator and writer of THE WEST WING and the late lamented SPORTS NIGHT has taken on the sketch comedy world and he’s brilliant. Sure he’s liberal as all hell and takes constant pot-shots at the Religious Right but he does it with humor. Forget that Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford and Amada Peet are in this (and they are great!), tune in instead for DL Hugley, Nathan Corddry and Sarah Paulson who just blow me away every week not only with their SNL routines but their dramas off camera. And then behind those names are more supporting characters like Nate, and Lucy and Ayda who are so quick and talented they will probably end up with their own shows someday. But here and now you can enjoy them all in one freakin show - STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP. Thursday night at 10. I can’t say it enough. Go download the first episode, funnier than SNL has been in years. You won’t be disappointed.
