Exit Stage Wrong Rosie
So my wife had me watch the Elizabeth and Rosie debacle from last Wednesday (I guess) on YouTube from their show The View. And now I hear Rosie has asked and been granted an early exit from the show. I found the whole thing rather… deceptive. A set-up to drive ratings and grab some headlines? I mean first Joy Behar read off a litany of bumblings, bad calls and outright FUBARs by President Bush (all of which I agreed with Joy should get him kicked out of office) to get Elizabeth Hasselbeck all riled up. She’s a Republican. Rosie sat quietly while Elizabeth steamed and defended but in no put a positive spin on Bush’s time in the White House. Then Rosie jumps in full throttle and rather than discuss the points brought up, which she said she wouldn’t because in the media she was regularly being accused of attacking “poor little Elizabeth”, she instead actually attcked Elizabeth on a very personal basis. It was rather sad. And I like Rosie. I appreciate her candor and humor and ability to speak her opinions whether popular or not. But she made this point personal and it came across quite harsh and mean and on national television. And who would do that on purpose?
